SMITH GLOVER
Emmy Winning Writer/Producer
From dot-com Executive, to producer on a cult classic feature film, to producer on Emmy winning doc series, Smith has worked in almost every format and style of storytelling, and brings all those experiences to each project he works on.
Smith started his career as Vice President of content for Atom-Bomb.com, one of the first ever streaming services. His main job was as talent evaluator, finding content for the site at festivals such as Cannes and Sundance.
That experience re-ignited a childhood love of telling stories. As the dot com boom died down, Smith became an independent producer. He worked on the cult hit “Kung Fu Brother,” while also moving into the burgeoning documentary TV space. As that industry slowly grew and then exploded with the streaming wars, Smith became known for his storytelling abilities as well as his ability to efficiently and effectively manage a large crew of people.
He’s now worked on multiple Emmy winning and nominated shows - winning an Emmy himself - for top streamers and cable stations, such as CNN (“United Shades of America”, which won an Emmy award), Showtime (“Active Shooter”, which was Emmy nominated), Netflix (“Big Vape” which won an Emmy), and Apple (“Fight for Glory: 2024 World Series), among many others. His work on true crime recreation shows has blended documentary and scripted elements, keeping his hands in the scripted world.
Smith is now President of Overtown Pictures, overseeing a growing slate of feature projects from conception to completion.
